50 Year Trail - Tucson

Take Oracle road (SR77) north, out of town, through Oro Valley, about 20 miles or so. Turn Right at Golder Ranch road, follow Golder Ranch road until the end. Park in the dirt lot. Trail is across the cattle guard toward the left. Look for the '50 Year' trail markers. There is a maze of trails here. The best time to ride is October to April or May. This trailhead is at the base of the Catalina Mountains, and almost the entire trail is lined with cactus so take flat protection.

  1. There is a little of everything here, Long burning climbs, short rocky sections, nice singletrack descents as well as technical drops. Make sure to check out 'The Chutes' a roller coaster ride for sure... Great views, photo opts, cool scenery.
